red or yellow, and they are very beautiful. In winter, I enjoy seeing
the white snow. It's verv new to me because we have no snow in
my country. How about you, Misaki?
Misaki :I like spring the best because we can enjoy cherry blossoms.
Shelly : I see. Last spring I went to the park near my house to see them
With my friends. I saw many cherry trees with a lot of blossoms.
They were really beautiful. There( people, lunch, many, were,
eating) under the trees. They all looked very happy.
Misaki : Many Japanese people like cherry blossoms very much. I think we
can say that the flower is a symbol of Japan.
Shelly:I think so, too.
Misaki : The 100-yen coin even has a cherry blossom design on it.
Shelly:Really! I didn't know that. Why are cherry blossoms so popular
among Japanese people?
Misaki : Because cherry blossoms are connected with many good memories
for us. So I think Japanese people see cherry blossoms as special
flowers.
