Q: What is JUNGLIA OKINAWA like?
A: Integrated Facility with Attraction and hot springs
Junglia Okinawa is a theme park in the mountain valley “Yanbaru" in the northern part of
Okinawa.It takes about an hour and a half's drive north from Naha. It is about 600,000 square
meters, slightly larger than Tokyo Disneyland (about 510,000 square meters) in Urayasu City,
Chiba. There will be 20 or more attractions, including a giant hot air balloon that looks at
aerial views of Yanbaru's great nature, and to escape dinosaurs by car in the forest. It will also
have a hot spring.
The idea of building a theme park in Okinawa ten years ago. In 2015, Universal Studios Japan
(USJ) in Osaka proclaimed its expansion into northern Okinawa, but this plan was withdrawn
within a year.
However, a marketing company established by Takeshi Morioka, then a senior executive at
USJ, proclaimed the Junglia concept in 2018.
