名詞構文の考え方自体がよくわからないです。形容詞を考えてもどう戻すのかもわからないです。

1. 名詞構文の考え方 形容詞の名詞形の場合でも、元の形容詞に戻して考えることが重要です。 例えば、 (the ability of A to (V)) は 「AのVする能力」 という訳も可能ですが、 元の形容詞を 考えると 〔A is able to (V)) の 「名詞構文」 だと分かります。 ですから,「AがVでき ること」という訳もできるようにしておいてください。 次の例は 〔inability of A to (V))となっていますから「AがVできないこと」と考えて訳します。 i The inability of students from various countries to communicate with each other irritated them. そつう 様々な国から来た学生たちは、お互いに意思の疎通を図ることができなかったため、いら だっていた。 本文には superiority という名詞があります。これを見たときに,形容詞形の superior を考えてください。 superior は普通,〔A be superior to B.〕 「AはBより優 れている」 で使いますね。 これは名詞構文でも同じです。 名詞にするとthe superiority of A to B となります。 よって to ~ を探すことになりますが、英文中には 見あたりません。 あるのは over ~ だけですね。 結局, 「Bより優れている」は「B を が使われていること 越えて」のイメージと重なりますから, to ~の代わりに over~ が分かればOKです。
