My first attempt at writing a novel, some inspiration from Lilith Marlowe’s Empress of the undead (now unavailable). Item Rarity tier inspired by Grow A Garden. Cover is made by ai( cause i can’t commission someone to do it for me and I’m bad at art).

Chapter 2
Leo opened the door of his apartment and walked out, the blinding rays of the sun hit his eyes,
momentarily stunning him. But he rubbed his eyes with his stubby fingers and forced himself to keep on
walking. His last shred of hope was a multinational company called lakesi.inc. It took nearly everyone that
went through its doors, but most of the employees went suicide afterwards due to unknown reasons. However
many people still flocked to it because of the low standards and good pay, and today Leo was going to be one
of them. As he walked through the throngs of pedestrians, he briefly considered taking a taxi, but he didn't
have the money to spare. Finally he arrived at the doors of a giant structure that loomed over this part of the
city. In front of the door was a sign, it read "now hiring, taking nearly anyone for good pay". As he walked
through the front door, the cool air from the air conditioning enveloped him. The receptionist at the front desk
asked for his credentials and told him to walk through a door labeled, waiting room. The door opened up to
rows of blue plastic chairs, some were already occupied, while others were left empty, Leo found an empty
seat and sat in it. As he waited he struck up a conversation with the person in front of him, he was a tall man
who was maybe in his thirties or forties, he wore a pair of wire rimmed glasses and looked impeccable. "Hey,
how long do you think this will take?" Asked Leo trying to make small talk. The man turned around "well I've
been here for 2 days already, the staff here hand out food to the people waiting, so it's pretty nice, better than
starving out on the streets" then his brow furrowed, "but I do feel something strange about this, cause in these
2 days I have not seen anyone go through that door over there." He said while pointing to the door at the end
of the aisle.
