5 10 15 20 25 30 The Olympics were held in Tokyo in 1964. A few years ago before the Olympics, Japan had a big problem. It was a problem of communication. Many foreign people didn't visit Japan, and we had only, Japanese signs. For example, words like "i" or "" were on toilet doors. These signs were not understood by many foreign people. Japanese people at that time needed to make signs in many different languages for foreign people. But when they put many words on one sign, the "letters became too small. They could not easily read the sign. They had to think of ) signs for foreign people. Mr. Masaru Katsumi, a leader of a design team for the Olympics, had a great idea. everyone /to/ was easy / thought / understand he forit pictures. He wanted to make picture signs. These signs are called *pictograms and are used in many places now. Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 Look at these pictures. Picture 1 shows a shower. Picture 2, shows a toilet. Picture 3 shows a restaurant. Foreign people can easily understand what each picture shows. They had to make pictograms which everyone could understand without any trouble. When they started to make them, one of the pictograms was a shower. Many Japanese people didn't know about showers at that time and didn't have one at home. One of the designers didn't even know the word "shower." One officer had to explain how to use it with a photo of a shower. The designer made the pictograms through the officer's words. With a lot of trouble and hard work, twelve designers needed three months and made pictograms for the Olympics. When the last pictogram was finished, Mr. Katsumi said to all the designers, "You did a great job, but this work is not for us. We did it for all Japanese people. Please write your names on this paper." The paper said that they'd like to give up the *copyright to the pictograms. They wrote their names on the paper. They gave up the copyright. One of the designers said, "Mr. Katsumi hopes that many people in many places will use the pictograms in the future. Money from the copyright is not important to Mr. Katsumi. He is proud that he is one of the members who worked for the Tokyo Olympics." In 2020, we are going to have the Olympics in Tokyo. Our life will change a lot. What kinds of new signs or pictograms will we see around us?

(34点) My father loves *dinosaurs and *fossils. He (he/them/in/collects/is/that/interested /so) dinosaur toys, small fossils and books about dinosaurs. I heard he tried to find fossils along the river with my grandparents when he was young. When I was younger, my family took me to the science museum every year. My father loved looking at the dinosaur fossils there, and he always explained them to me. So, I got interested in dinosaurs and fossils, too. My father has a restaurant near our house, and he displays some dinosaur teeth fossils in the restaurant. One day, he introduced one of his customers to me. The man, Mr. Shirai, also loved dinosaurs and fossils, and often visited museums all around the world, such as in America, Canada and China. He realized that my father was interested in the same things because of the fossils in the restaurant. They became good friends. One day in September, Mr. Shirai came to my father's restaurant and showed me a fossil. It was a beautiful fish fossil in a brown stone plate. I was surprised to see it, Mr. Shirai A me a lot about the fossil. He traveled to Germany to look for fossils, and he found many fossils there such as fish, animal bones and leaves. The area is very famous for "archaeopteryx fossils. I once saw a picture of the archaeopteryx fossil in a book, so I wanted to go to see the fossil in -4-

Check 例題 284 自然数1,2, いろいろな数列の和 (1) 2 いろいろな数列 *** nについて,この中から異なる2つの自然数を選び, その積を計算する. このようにしてできる積の総和 Sm を求めよ. 考え方 たとえば, 3つの数a, b, cで考えてみると 舞台 T=ab+bc+ca が求める積の総和であり,さらに, (a+b+c)2=a+b2+c+2(ab+bc+ca) =a+b2+c+2T 2), T=(a+b+c)2- (a²+b²+c²)} ¿ts. この考え方を1, 2, 3, ......, nについて用いる. 123 n 1 2 ... n 6.2n 336 ... 3n 2 2 nn 2n3n... S=(1×2+1×3+... +1×n)+(2×3+2×4+…+2xn)+…+(n-1)×n 上の表の部分の和になっている.) 3つの数の場合と同様に考えると, (1+2+3++n)=(12+2+32++n²)+2S” であることがわかる. (1+2+3+…+n)=(12+2+32 +…+n)+2S,より, Sn= {(1+2+3+..+n)-(12+22+32+…+n2)} ( k: n \2 n k=1 11/11/12n(n+1)-1/n(n+1)(2n+1)] 考え方を参照 499 第8章 -n(n+1){3n(n+1)-2(2n+1)} 24 = 24 注 自然数1, 2,......,n (n-1)n(n+1)(3n+2) nに関して,この中の自然数んとその他の自然数との積の和は, k(1+2+......+n)k と表せる. n 1 2n(n+1)で くる。 これを用いると,2×Sn=_{k(1+2+ ・+nk2}となる. k=1 注》P=(x+1)(x+2)(x+3)×......×(x+n)の展開式はxのn次式となる. このとき x” の係数は 1, xn-1 の係数は 1+2+......+n= =1/2n(n+1)となる。 (x+n)のn個の( )について, では,x-2の係数はどのようにして求めればよいだろうか. Pを展開する際に,(x+1)(x+2), (x+3, )から数字を残り (n-2)個の()からxを選んで積を求めれば, 2個の x-2 の項を作ることができる. したがって, xn-2の係数の総和は、例題 284 と同様に考えればよい. つまり,x2の係数は -(n-1)n(n+1)(3n+2) となる. 24
