Don't you think the summer is getting hotter and
hotter every year? Look at the chart below. From
1984 to 1993, there were 15 days in Tokyo when the
temperatures reached 35°C or higher. There were 44
days with such temperatures from 1994 to 2003, and 5
56 days from2004 to 2013. This shows clearly that the
number of such hot days has been increasing. On
those days, temperatures often remain 25°C and above
even at night. On such nights, you can hardly sleep
without air conditioners on.

High temperatures also seem to cause sudden
rainfalls or tornadoes. They are unpredictable and can
do great damage. What other changes will these rising
