We often say that fair play is important in sports.
What exactly does “fair" mean? Baron de Coubertin.
“the father of the modern Olympics," referred to fair
play at the 4th Olympics of 1908.
He said, "In life,

effort is more important than success.
play well, not to win."
In 1963, UNESCO created the International Fair Play
Committee (CIFP). It promotes the idea that fair play
is based on respect. Athletes should respect the rules,
referees, opponents, teammates, and spectators. Since 10
1964, the CIFP has given the International Fair Play
Award to a person or an organization for outstanding
fair play.
Although it is the basis of all sports, the idea of
playing fair is not easy to define.
