in an hourで「1時間以内に」という意味です。forは未来の文では時間を表す(an hour)などには基本使いません。使うなら「〜のために」という意味などなど。
forで時間を表すならI have lived here for ten years.「私はここに10年間住んでます。」のような用法ですね
