(2)比較級の前にmuchがあるとその比較級を強調するというのがあります
今回はbetterが比較級になってるので他のveryやmoreは入らずに強調のmuchになります！

(3)have toはmustと同じ意味の助動詞ですが今回はyesterdayがついてるのでhave toの過去形のhad to
が正解だと思われます
