動詞には
自動詞と他動詞の2つがあります。
自動詞とは後ろに目的語がこないもの
他動詞とは後ろに目的語がくるもの です。
例えば、
I go to school by bicycle. では
goが動詞で、後ろに目的語がないので自動詞です。
一方
I eat an apple.では、
an appleという目的語がeat(動詞)の後ろにあるので他動詞です。
