Five common ways to persuade people to
agree with your idea are to:
1 insist: tell people what you think the best idea is
2 reason: tell people why something is a good idea
3 connect: identify ideas and values you share to
win someone's support
4 discuss: talk about possible ideas so that everyone
gets something they want
5 inspire: encourage someone to see how great
an idea is
Most people prefer one style, but it may be helpful
to change your technique for different people,
situations, and places. In some situations, you may
need more than one style to get what you want.
