①比較級(~er)+than...の文
例) Tom is taller than Jim (トムはジムより背が高い。)
意味と用法
形容詞・副詞の語尾にerのついた形を比較級という。2つの
ものを比べて「AはBより~」と言うときはくA... 比較級+than B.>
で表す。
I got up earlier than my brother.

比較級の作り方
①ふつう
lerをつける
Lold-older. hard-harder!
②語尾がe
lrをつける
large-larger.late-later
③語尾がく子音字+y>yをiにかえてer
④語尾が短母音+子音字>語尾の子音字を重ねterl big-bigger hotter
⑤不規則に変化する語 good(よい)・well (じょうずに)-better/
happy-happier early-earlier
bad(悪い)・ill(病気の)-worse
many (多数の)・much (多量の) -more/little(少量の)-less
比較級(more~)+thanの文
例) This book is more interesting than that one.
意味と用法
(この本はあの本よりおもしろい。)
beautiful (美しい) や popular 1人気がある)など、比較的つづりの長い形
容詞・副詞、-lyで終わる副詞(earlyを除く)などは、原級の前にmore
をおいて比較級を作る。 <more+原級+than……>の形で「……より~」の意
味を表す。
Please speak more slowly. (もっとゆっくり話してください。)
