I Have a Dream
1 One afternoon in 1955, a black woman in Alabama
was going home from work.
i She took a seat on the bus.
Midway through the trip, the driver said," Give up your
seat to this white man".
When she refused the driver called the police.
"Arrest the woman sitting there. She
She is breaking the law."
The police arrested her.
From this small act by Rosa Parks, a hugi movement
started.
② Martin Luther King, Jr. heard about Mrs Parks.
He said,
"There are many things we black people
cannot do.
We cannot stand it any more.
Let's support Mrs Parks.

Some walked to work and school.
Others used cars.
They got support from some white people.

Finally, black people won the right to sit anywhere.
