1>>違いまでは知らなかったので、調べてみると、
remind…思い出させる(remind A of B の形で使い、今回は不正解)（動作）
recollect…注意深く,努力して思い出す(=recall)（動作）
remember…(幅広い意味で)思い出す（動作）
のようです。

ここで、rememberにはもう一つ、「覚えている、記憶している」（状態）の意味があります。他の単語では「彼に思い出させる」のようになり意味が通じませんが、rememberを入れると「彼は（人々に）記憶されている」となり、意味が通じます。〈be remembed for(〜のことで記憶されている)〉というイディオムが有名ですね。

cover(動詞)には覆うの他に普及した、広まった、のような意味があり、面積とともに使うと「この土地は2292km2ものエリアがある、占めている」、のようなニュアンスになります。
