Jul AM PILO. の顔のように直視した。 胸に棲んでいるうさぎが耳をたてた。耳をたてて、校舎のあ ちこちから聞こえる練習の音をとらえた。 リズムを作る。単純な作業だが、克久にとってこれくらいおもしろい作業は他にな かった。 基礎練習は相変わらず、祥子と並んで机を叩くだけだ。もっとも、この頃に なると課題曲と自由曲、つまり「譚詩」と「くじゃく」のパート練習が始まっていた し、基礎練習のほうもさすがにひとつ打ちだけではなくて、ふたつ打ち、みっつ打ち とアクセントをつけたものになっていた。それにしたところで、他のパートから見れ ば、練習と言うより修業みたいな風変わりな様子だった。おまけに、克久は祥子とあ のまり口をきかない。 陽気な祥子も練習になると黙々と同じ動作を繰り返す。 はたから見て、それがどんなに単調に見えようとも、右手と左手を均等に使って、 粒の揃った音を出すのは簡単なことではなかった。しかし、音の粒が揃うというのは、 それはそれは気持ちの良いものだった。 音の粒が揃うと、身体の血の巡りが良くなる。 克久は心臓が微笑するような感覚が そこにあるのを発見した。 胸の中でうさぎが耳を澄ましている。ちょうど心臓のあた りで、耳を澄まして、叩き出される音の粒が揃っているのを眺めていた。 そこには知恵と呼ぶに足りるものがあった。どんな 知恵だと言われても、克久には答えられないが、例の左官屋の仕事とは、まるで別の 知恵があった。 克久はもともと、一人でいることは苦にならない性質だ。一人息子で 一人っ子だからかもしれない。百合子も仕事を持っていて忙しかったから、一人でい ることに慣れたのかもしれない。理由は幾らだって考えることはできるし、解釈はい くらでもできるが、一人でいられる喜びを教えることは、解釈ではできない。克久は 他の部員とのコンビネーションを必要とするパート練習より、単調な基礎練習のほう が好ましかった。一人でいることは苦にならないが、基礎練習をしていると、ある喜 びの色を帯びてくる。小さな音の粒が克久の息をしている世界に向かって放たれると 同時に、彼の身体へと染み込んできた。パート練習で自分の役割を早くも意識し始め ている祥子と克久の違いはそこにあった。 時々、思いがけぬ時に、克久の身体の中からリズムが顔を出す。トントントンと何 かを叩いてみたくなる。夜、風呂に入ろうとしてパンツ一枚になったとたん、不意に、 これだという感じがした。自分のスティックを持って来て、洗濯機をトントンとやっ た。背筋を伸ばして、この際、パンツ一枚なのは何の問題にもならない。 服を着てい る時と同じように、リズムに合わせて踵を上げながら、トントントンと叩いた。 「あら、くじゃくとタンシのおけいこ」 かかと 金 楽 理 + t-mat 中高一貫 数: ミネルヴァのリズム 田幸先生 数学 上田幸生 atama 英語 2 英 新先生 ふろ 月19 数学 幸 ipa
