4 Despite the happiness his new life brought, Saroo missed his family in India.
He also wondered about his origins. He believed his memories about India
would help him hold onto his identity. Since he couldn't read and write back
then, he often recalled them in his mind in order not to forget any detail. Sue,
Saroo's adoptive mother, was an understanding person. She noticed Saroo was
a lovely sensible child when he came, so she knew he had been loved by his birth
