会話では、13人称単林 (I, he/she など)の場合 were の代わりに was もよく使われる。
② 仮定法過去完了 「もしあのとき)~だったら」
③ If we had hurried, we could have caught the train.
もし急いでいたら、私たちはその電車に乗れていたのに、
過去の事実と違うことを反定するときに使う。
