問題文にあるdormitoryの意味が分からなかったので、大学1年生の時に誰かと一緒に住むことはいいことだと思うかどうか、というかんじに解釈して、一人暮らしの方がいいと思うというふうに書きました。

理由ですが、もう少しその理由がなぜ寮で他人と一緒に暮らすことがgood system ではないのかを掘り下げるといいと思います。

They can learn のところは、They recognize なんかも使えます。

6行目のIfで始まる文ですが、they will know の部分は、
they learn がいいです。
how much money needs to → how much money is needed to

7行目にもlearn があるので、find out など熟語も使うといいです。
また、useも多いので、spendに変えるといいです。

最後の方のhouse costsは家を建てたり買ったりするイメージなので、house rentsとするほうがいいと思います。
