現在分詞で補語。 keep on doingも同様に 「~し続ける」

doing も「~し続ける」 (~することを続ける) という意味
を表す。SVO の文型で, to do, doing は目的語。 =She
continued to play the piano regardless of the noise.

遅れる事を嫌うという文章を作るためにbe lateのbeを動名詞にしてto be late と3つ必要なところをbeing lateと2語で置き換えてる感じです
