例文暗記について相談です

最近、例文暗記を進めていくごとにこれはaかtheか、
複数形か、thatはつけるのか省くのか、
という細かいところまでこだわっています。

時々、これが例文暗記の目的だったのだろうか？
もっと色んな英作文ができるようになりたいし、
覚えた文を使って長文も読めるようになりたい、
このままaとかtheにこだわってると、以上のことができなくなるのではと不安になります

そこで改めて、例文暗記をして勉強している方、
例文暗記にあたって、やり方、方法から引いては
注意点、やってはいけないことを教えてほしいです

受験生の頃、僕はこれをやろうと思って中古で買ってやってたのですが、他にやるべきことあるなと思ったのでそこまで一生懸命やらなかったのであまり参考になるかはわかりません。僕は、例文丸覚えというより書いてあることを読んで書くときに意識できるようにすること+使えそうな表現を覚えることをやっていました。例えば、001や002で仮定法と直説法どちらで書くかのお話が書いてありますが、そういったことを意識できるように読んでいました。そして、「しないうちに」はbefore SVで書けばよいのか、「エレベーターを待つ」はwait for the elevator to come という風に書けばよいのか、という風に例文ではなくフレーズ単位で覚えていました。とはいえ、完璧に覚えていたかと言われたら全く完璧ではなかったし、表現の幅がわずかに増えた程度だったので参考にはならないかもしれません。
やり方や注意点はこの本の一番最初に書いてあります。
