③の意味が｢僕の車だったはずがないよ｣なのですが、なぜ完了形にするのでしょうか。
It couldn't be mine.ではダメですか？

A：今日道を渡っていた時、車に引かれそうになったんだ。大きな赤い車で君のにそっくりだった。
B僕の車だったはずがないよ。先週故障して、修理に出す時間がないんだ。
