last year を名詞と考えてしまっているので、何かを入れたくなってしまうのだと思いますが、実はこのlast year は副詞なんですね。ですので何も付けなくていいんです。以下似た例を示すので、参考に。

・I became a high school student this year.
・The Tokyo Olympics will be held next year.
・I asked a question on Clear this morning. (this year, next year, this morningは全て副詞)
