too muchの位置がここである必然性はないと思います。
例えば、倒置したいのであれば、前にもってくればいいと思います。

to eat...の句はeatのOがmuch(名詞)であるという考え方と、eatが〈SV〉で、muchが副詞であるという2通りの考え方ができると思いますが、
OはVの後ろに書かれることが多いですし、
副詞はVの後ろの書かれることが多いので、
この文は誤文であるとは言えないと思います。
