なぜwhichだけじゃなくてinも付けるのですか？

(2) ここはヨシダ先生が生まれた町だ。
This is the town in which Mr.Yoshida was born.@
@「一で生まれる」は「be 動詞 born in -」で表現できるよ。
@「This is he town| 〈which Mr.Yoshida was born in〉.
= This is he townl| 〈in which Mr.Yoshida was born〉.」のように,
前置詞を which の前に置いた形になるよ。

born in the town で使いたいからです。
born the town だと意味が通じません。
