In 2007, William was invited to speak at an
International Conference in Tanzania.
"I got imformation about a windmill, and I Try and

The people there did not want him to go back to poverty.
They asked William what they could do to help him.
And he answered clearly, "I want to go back to
school and I want to continue with my windmills so my
family does not have to go hungry again."
William's fame spread around Africa.

In 2010, he won the GO Ingenuity Award, which is
a prize given to promote the sharing of new ideas
and skills with young people in developing nations.
The following year, William was invited as a guest.

Section 4.
William's windmill has brought fame and money,
as well as electricity, to his family.
But progress is not only a matter of technology;
It is also a matter of education and how people think.
William's village is still poor; there are still not
enough schools; the people still prefer magic and
witchcraft to science.
Some villagers are angry about the family's wealth
and fame.
Others think that the windmill is blowing away the clouds
that bring much needed rain to the dry land.
Some even think windmills are witchcraft.
But William keeps on building.
Now he has plans to build windmills to bring not
only electricity but also water to the whole village.
Then, he wants to build more windmills for other
villages across the country..
William is part of a generation of Africans who
are not waiting for the government or aid groups
to come to their rescue.
They are finding solutions to their own problems.
