※an amount(額) of money ある金額のお金　→　not any amount of money=no amount of money どのような金額のお金も…ない
replace …　…に取って代る、…を置き換える
⇒　しかしながら、どのような金額のお金も＜命が失われてしまった＞人々に取って代わることができなかった。
