基本的に、前置詞を関係代名詞が用いられている節の後ろに置きます。
例)I don't know the girl to whom you were talking.
→I don't know the girl (who(m)) you were talking to.

また、〈on which〉や〈in which〉などは関係副詞に書き換えられる場合があります。
例)Tell me about the town in which[where] you were born.
