それぞれの問題で、どんな訳し方になるんですか？単語の意味がわからないのがあって、、、

（2）で、答えはbで訂正したものはhad readだったんですけど、私はaでhad finishedだと思いました。なんでbになるんですか？

二次試験に向けての和訳の練習をしています。この英文を直訳すると、「空腹の客は〜ではなく〜によって迎えられる。」となると思いますが、このように受動態で訳さないと減点になりますか？写真のように訳しても大丈夫なのでしょうか。教えて頂きたいです。
