受動態(＝受け身)の表現は、日本語ではあまり使われないために馴染みがありませんが、英語では頻繁に使用されます。
色々な英語の文や表現を見て、慣れるしかありません。
できれば、英文の意味を理解した上で、そのまま覚えることを勧めます。
