括弧の種類がむちゃくちゃで申し訳ないですが
前半は良いでしょう
betweenとくるとandを探してしまいますが登場はないです、culturesが複数なのでこの文化間を指しての「間」と解釈できます
後半はmakingの分詞構文に反応したい。forの挿入が少々混乱要素でしょうか、thanの直後the mere…と続くので前半もthe〇〇の形を探してあげればthe objective…で、意味的にも納得できる解釈が通ると思います
