Which and whom are object pronouns. That can be used for either. In writing which or whom is better.
Whom refers to people only.
Being on a diet = which not whom
The name = which not whom
That is really a lazy way to not have to think correctly what you are really talking about and is often used in conversation.
What and whose cannot be used as relative object pronouns.
