The tradition is ~の文を、語句の意味を理解して読んで、選択肢と照らし合わせるとわかると思います。

③だと、筆者が何をしてる人かということと、English-speaking countriesと Hispanic countries のことで、部分的にしか当てはまりません。
本文の題名にも注目してみて下さい。

問3は歯の妖精と、子供が眠っているときに歯がお金に置き換わる方法に強い関心を持っていました
と、1が本文を全体的に言ってるから。

ショックを受けた子供逹、の英文は

となります。

問3は、私も何度も質問を読み返してみました。はじめは、本文の内容全体について述べている答を見つけるのか、と思い込んでいたのですが、

「お話を読んだ後、あなたは筆者の( )ということを学んだ。」

と書いてあるので、選択肢の中でもEnglish-speaking countries の段落の内容だけを取り上げている、又は、Mexican tradition の段落内容、と本文の一部だけ取り上げてその部分の情報を「学んだ」という答え方でも間違いではないのかも、と思いました。

答の根拠になる語句や文を本文から見つけるのが大変ですよね。選択肢に使われている単語が、本文中にある単語と同じではなく、その類義語だったりすると、意味がはっきりわかっていないと答えに迷います。
この長文問題の質問は、よく読み込ませて単語力を鍛えさせるように作られているのがよくわかります。難しく感じますが、頑張って解いて慣れてくるとある時点から実力がすごく伸びるのが実感できるようになると思います。
