第2講 文化(2) 庭園をめぐる日米の考え方 When I was in America, I loved gardens and parks very much, so every time/I traveled around America, I visited famous gardens and parks. In the summer of my * junior year/in college, I traveled around Europe visiting famous gardens and parks. The young Japanese guide did not laugh. She explained[that, in Japanese gardens, there are plants and some flowering bushes]but[that they are less important] If the flowers are blooming, viewers cannot pay the right attention/ to the rocks, ponds/ánd hills, so the Japanese idea of a garden is a place without flowers. 下の英語長文のhowの部分の訳し方について質問です。(空欄→whatです) how their resolutions compare with the previous year's behavior. の部分を、「どのように彼らの決断は前年の行動と比較するのか」と訳したのですが、不自然になってしまいました。解答は、「どのように〜と"比較されるか"」となっていたのですが、なぜcompareが能動なのに、受動で訳されるのですか?(確かに、能動で訳すと上記の私がしてしまったような訳になってしまうので不適切だと思うのですが) 英語を読んでいて、もし能動で訳して変な場合は受動で訳しても良いということなのでしょうか? 教えていただけると助かります。
