答えがideaなんですけど、なんでtellingじゃダメか分かる方いらっしゃいますか？

there is no telling とは聞くけどI have no tellingっていう言い回しは聞かないかなと思います。一応検索かけてみたけど出てきませんね。

あんころもち

I have no idea 「何も思いつかない」という意味で使われます。これだと、題意に添いますね。
tellingをこの文で使うのなら、
there is no telling 「断言できない」
　↑ とおかないといけません。
題意に適してませんね。
