下の英語長文のhowの部分の訳し方について質問です。(空欄→whatです) how their resolutions compare with the previous year's behavior. の部分を、「どのように彼らの決断は前年の行動と比較するのか」と訳したのですが、不自然になってしまいました。解答は、「どのように〜と"比較されるか"」となっていたのですが、なぜcompareが能動なのに、受動で訳されるのですか?(確かに、能動で訳すと上記の私がしてしまったような訳になってしまうので不適切だと思うのですが) 英語を読んでいて、もし能動で訳して変な場合は受動で訳しても良いということなのでしょうか? 教えていただけると助かります。

no 比較級 than に関する質問です。 My right leg does no more work than my left legs. この文章を「私の左足が働かないのと同様に、私の右足も働かない」という風に訳したのですが、 正解は、「私の右足は左足と同じ量の仕事しかしていない」というものでした。 「A is no 比較級 B than C is D」で、「CがD"でない"のと同様に、AもB"でない"」というように否定で訳すやり方で学んでいたため、上記の訳し方がよく分からなかったです。上記のように否定文として処理できないものもある、と参考書には書いてあったのですが、そのようなものはどのように見分ければ良いのでしょうか?また、その際の訳し方も教えていただきたいです。 下に、上記の英文と同じように否定で訳せない文(CがDでないのと同様にAもBでないと訳せない文)を例として記載しておきます。 Ben is no worse than anyone else. ベンは他の誰とも変わらない The new model is no heavier than the previous one. その新しいモデルは旧来のものと同じ重量しかない This capsule is no bigger than the head of a matchstick. このカプセルはマッチ棒の大きさしかない 長文失礼致しました。詳しく教えていただけると助かります。

至急お願いします! 下の英文についてです。 to communicate 〜を形容詞的用法として使えない理由として、解説には 「名詞 to do (to 以下に名詞の欠落なし)の形で『〜な名詞』と読むことができるのは、①名詞とto VがS V関係になっている場合と ②名詞がtime やplaceなどの特殊なものである場合のみだ」 と書かれているのですが、よく分かりません。 別の問題では、文中で the power to destory the whole of humankindや、the ability to speak Englishのように、S V関係が成り立たないにも関わらず「不定詞の形容詞的用法」としているものがあります。これらは、前文で挙げた②に該当するため、形容詞的用法でもありなのでしょうか。 長文すみません。 教えていただけると助かります。
