To in the verb sense:

I want to play ....

In this way, the verb (to play) is the same as asobu. Play is the main action that is talked about. Want is in the place of a helping verb.

Aso bi tai = want to play

English does no have the helping verb (tai) so we use two full verbs to communicate this idea. When we use two full verbs together, the second verb is written in its full infinitive form meaning we use (to + verb).

The infinitive (to (do)...) is also used to show the purpose of another action. I go to school. My purpose = to learn. So

I go to school to learn.

You can see in both cases that the infinitive (to do) is used when the second verb is used in English. This rule is used 90 percent in English.

The only 100 percent rule in English is that all rules are broken in certain situations.

Thank you.
Should I remember the rules name?

Nice to meet you too

I don't think the rule names are important for communication but for tests especially to get into college, you may need to know them. School sometimes places too much importance on it and that can't be helped. It happens in every country.
