theがつく場合は特定のものについて話しているかによってつきます。
the studentだと何人も生徒がいるということになってどの人が対象か分からなくて数えられないのでaがつくことでその1人の生徒！ということがわかるんです！
the earthは他にもう同じもの(地球)なんてないのでtheがつきます
