we usually use "as far as" to talk about distance.

So: Throw the ball as far as possible. I moved the box as far as possible.

"until" is mostly used for time.

So: You can only watch TV until 8 P.M. or You have until 3 P.M to finish the essay.

なので、「森の端まで」という距離について話しているので、as far asが正しいということです。
