Memory-training courses are much in vogue nowadays, and it
seems to be taken for granted that the more things we remember
the happier we are. The pleasures of memory must certainly
be estimated high, but am sure forgetfulness also plays a part

forget his election pledges. Forgetting, indeed, is not a simple
matter. Psychologists will have to devote years of deep study to

forget injuries inflicted on them in the past. Others are equally
miserable because they cannot forget wrongs they have done
others. Human beings are so made, indeed, that they forget the
